Marvin Orellana and I dreamed up Foto Chisme, a telephone-style photographic project on a call where we were likely being chismosas.
We sent the initial prompt, “cuentame el chisme!,” to the first photographer, Maridelis Morales Rosado, in the chain. She sent us back a photo which we then sent to the next photographer, Felipe Romero Beltran, with no caption included. He then produced a photo inspired by that photo and then we sent their photo to the next photographer and so on and so on through nine photographers. We told them to create anything they wanted, or to pull something from their archives, whatever best spoke to the photo prompt they received. The results were surprising and fun.

How did they become comfortable with their physical proximity? did they just meet, or have they known each other for years? are they dating? are they friends? do they want more? what could they possibly be whispering about? you? the person next to them? are you their chisme?
